The negative effect of the closure of many offices with Covid-19
With the collateral effects of Covid-19, many offices located in the center of large cities are still closed and that negatively affects many other people who offered their services to all the people who worked in them.
And this is happening globally as anyone can see by reading the news from foreign newspapers. What happens in Madrid also happens in New York, Paris, Toronto, etc …
There has been a very rapid change in the behavior and way of life of many people, which involves a change in the business models of many companies large and small. And each one must find a way to react to face these changes.

When the office environment is very dense, it brings together thousands (and sometimes tens of thousands) of people in a physical space that is not very large, and that creates a special micro-climate for many types of businesses, since there are many potential clients to serve.
And therefore, around the office environments, businesses of all kinds were generated, catering, clothing, travel, gifts, hotels, leisure, etc … which also employ many other people.
.
And with the abrupt change in Covid-19, all that has collapsed, with the uncertainty that it is unknown what the “new normal” will be like or when we will reach it.
In my opinion, regardless of when “normal” returns, it is likely to be quite different from what it was before, as it has been demonstrated in a palpable way that things can be done differently.
And furthermore, this new way of working means that fewer face-to-face meetings and fewer square meters of offices are required, with the savings that this means for companies in rentals, travel expenses, other types of expenses, etc….
I think we have to be realistic and see things how they really are and accept that the new reality will be different, and we have to adapt to it as soon as possible.
Those who do it first will benefit the most.
